Galway volunteers for the Big Brothers Big Sisters Programme were nominated for the Mayor's Awards which took place in the Black Box Theatre on Tuesday evening, 20th January 2009. 

The event celebrated volunteerism in Galway City.

Over 80 individual people and many different groups were recognised for their commitment to volunteering and celebrated the impact they have made on the quality of community life in the City.

Some of the Galway volunteers went up to collect the nomination award, and a great evening was then enjoyed by all.
